"Know Evil"
Part three of Final Crisis came out last week and I'm damned impressed with the team of Morrison and Jones. Not only is the story interesting and thought provoking but the art work is just splendid.
After blowing up the Daily Planet and bring Barry back for a millisecond I had to wonder what Morrison could do to top himself, well he put the Crisis into Final Crisis.
During the first two issues Morrison took plot lines that have been going on in the DCU for the past few years and converged them to form one solid story. The third issue finally does that and ends on such a cliff hanger that I'm pissed I have to wait two (2!) months for the next issue.
While The Question looks for answers to a mummified murder victim, a fading star crashes to the ground. As everyone rushes up to see what has landed in the middle of the city we are greeted to the sight of a doppelganger Supergirl. Who is this familiar face and what part does she play in the Final Crisis?
Libra, being the loving and gentle villain that he is, gives the evil team a chance to better themselves with the Anti-life equation. What a great guy he is right? Of course if they don't, each one of them will loose the ability to make their own decisions and be in service to the "Master of All Evil". HMMMM...what to choose ....what to choose .....
We move to Clark Kent keeping watch at Lois' bed side since she was caught in the cross fire of the destruction of the Daily Planet. He's lost the one thing he cares about right now, but fortunately another being has a different ending in mind as she calls Superman to help in her.
The Alpha Lanterns take Hal Jordan into custody since they believe him to be the one guilty of the murder of Orion. Unfortunately, Hal does not remember where he was at the time of the murder or the attack on Jon Stewart so he willing goes with Alpha Lantern .
Wonder Woman heads to Bludhaven as various heroes of the DCU get the draft notice and group together to prepare themselves for the coming crisis.
The city Bludhaven has never really recovered from Chemo's attack and is still in ruins. "Atomic Knights" knights riding GIANT dalmations escort Wonder Woman into Bludhaven just to be confronted my Ms. Mary Marvel with a brand new look that any Hot Topic shopper would probably die for. After a huge fight with MS. Mary Marvel Wonder Woman is revealed to have been exposed to a deadly desiase that is going to corupt the rest of the world.
Well shit...whas going top happen next??? We won't find out for a good two motnhes since this is the start of a two month "story dictated" break in Final Crisis.
Instead we'll have plenty of Mini series and one shots to fill the space......meh, whatever. Though after the cataclysmic ending it's going to be kinda hard to wait.
